about
If I could pick one song to represent the sounds in my head, it's this one. These tones and sounds and patterns are the colours and textures and shapes that I see when my eyes are closed. On that I'll run an old 16mm film of the past - the good times, the growth times, the arrested times. Another story about our new found life, this sort of takes place after East to Kingston, when we were trying on small town life to see if we fit.
lyrics
I turned on every light
in this mansion you made
from old memories and paper planes
I light candles despite the hazards
of starting fires
near you
I fight the shadows that's where you're hiding
mostly from me
mostly from me
I try to cheer you up
do that stupid dance you love
that always cracked you up
in the before times
you jump off a train
waving like a Loon
it didn't matter how many saw you
we just strolled
the little town we'd chosen
at random
just somewhere that we found
staring at ourselves
in storefront windows
to see if we like what we see
in each other's eyes
this was in the before times
